Yes - please download and fill out the Blanket Cleaning Item Form. Please make a copy for yourself as well.
Yes! This will help the cleaners to keep track of your items more easily.
- First, we review your order form against the blankets that have been submitted for service. If a blanket is submitted that is not on your order form, we add it to the order form. If a blanket is missing that is listed on the order form, we immediately contact you to alert you that there is a discrepancy.
- At check in, all Velcro and leg/tail straps will be closed to prevent damage.
- If ripped, the damaged area will be pinned together to prevent additional tearing in the wash.
- A minimum of two pre-rinses are programmed in our machines. With the surface dirt out of the way, the organic soap that is injected results in a much cleaner blanket.
- There are 9 programs in each machine based on the weight, fabric, amount of hair and level of dirt.
- There are a minimum of two post rinses to assure the soap is completely removed.
- Your blankets are inspected for damage and a repair quote is prepared and delivered to you.
- After repair (if approved), your blankets are treated with water repellent (if you have requested it).
- Then your blankets are packaged and prepared for delivery.
No - all items are air dried.
At the time of delivery, we bar code scan your blankets at the delivery site and you receive a text or email that your blankets have been delivered. We take a picture of your delivery, in case there are questions about delivery location.
It is difficult to individually list repair prices since they can vary depending on the blanket structure and type of damage. But basically, we can fix anything including tack. Our minimum charge is $15.00. Generally, any damage that involves or extends into the binding or front pleats will be more expensive to repair.
As you know, extensive repairs can sometimes exceed the cost of the blanket. In the absence of pre-approval, if any repair is estimated to be more than $38.00, we will contact you for a decision before proceeding. We attempt to match fabric, color, hardware and thread, but our goal is to make the blanket serviceable. If you determine that one of your blankets is beyond repair, please do not discard it. We can use the hardware and fabric to keep our costs down, or, if the damage is minimal, we can repair and then donate it to partner equine rescues.
Items submitted for repair only are subject to a $15 processing fee in addition to the cost of repair. Items submitted for water repellant only are subject to a $15 pre-rinse fee in addition to the cost of water repellant.
- Claims for lost blankets must be accompanied by a copy of original order form that was submitted with blanket. At this point, we will match up your original paperwork with our system records to determine if you have submitted, but not received your blanket back. If a blanket is shown on your order form but was never received by us, you would have been contacted immediately at the time of check in. Always keep your original order form!
- Blanket claims are limited to $100 per item.
- Financial adjustments must be requested within 30 days of charge to credit card or check date.
- You are strongly urged to check on your items via our customer portal while your order is in progress as it is very easy to forget what blankets you have sent to us.
There are no boilers or dryers in our 2,500 square foot facility. Everything is washed in cold water and air dried. We have 60 rolling racks for air drying the blankets. The laundry equipment consists of three Unimac commercial washing machines: 40, 85 & 100 lbs. They have 9 different computerized programs and can clean just about anything the horse wears; turnouts, sheets, saddle pads and shipping boots. We even have a program and process for shipping halters. Our laundry chemicals are organic, biodegradable and non-irritating. The blankets come from the machine at a neutral PH. We also offer water repellant treatments.
We also professionally clean show clothes, stall drapes, and shipping boots.
Because they are air dried, we cannot be sure that the insulated blankets are completely moisture free, especially in the humidity of the summer months. The stuffing tissue will absorb any of this residual moisture and prevent mildew during storage. We have recently acquired a moisture tester to better measure residual moisture.
Generally it is two weeks. During blanket season, April thru August, always inquire our current lead time and let us know your specific needs.
Generally, they will not. Remember, the dry cleaning machine cleans people clothes and has several types of filters. The excessive hair may clog the filters requiring an expensive filter change. Also the soil from the tail cord goes into the solvent, requiring premature cleaning of the solvent.
