Thorowgood saddles are made with synthetic material for easy care, with flocked panels that can be adjusted by a saddle fitter. All Thorowgood saddles are compatible with a changeable gullet system, which allows the rider to quickly and easily adjust the width of the saddle at the pommel by exchanging gullet plates.
These changeable gullet bars are available in seven sizes from Narrow/Medium to XW/XXW. The changeable gullet system allows the rider to quickly and easily adjust the width of the tree at the pommel as their horse grows, develops, or changes shape after time off.
An eighth size, XXW, is available only for saddle models compatible with “S,” or short-length bars.
Thorowgood saddle models are offered with 3 different wither profile designs for low, medium, and high withers. The saddle designs for each are based not only on wither height, but also on other fitting concerns unique to each conformation type.

The Thorowgood T8 Compact GP is a versatile all-purpose saddle with a super-comfy deep seat and fully adjustable knee and calf blocks. The Compact GP is designed to appeal to petite riders or those with narrower hips, compared to the Original GP saddle. The profile of this saddle is designed to fit medium wither heights, as well as horses that are short or flat backed, or croup high. Saddles in the T8 range incorporate quality leather on the seat, knee pads, and trim, with synthetic skirts and flaps.
